How much CBD can you take in a day?

If you want to take CBD, you'll need to take into account some specific recommendations, including the maximum dosage of CBD per day. Taking CBD is a natural way of getting relief through herbal medicine, but it has to be done with a few provisos. Here's Mama's guide to finding the right amount of CBD for you.

Choosing the right dosage of CBD per day

Even though CBD is recognized as a natural solution for many problems, it must be taken seriously and certain essential points, such as dosage, must be taken into account. Choosing the right dosage of CBD ensures effective results, tailored to your needs and those of your body. Everyone's different, so it's up to you to find the CBD routine that's right for you.

Dosage varies according to several criteria such as :

  • the concentration of the CBD product,
  • the weight of the person,
  • individual tolerance to cannabinoids (metabolism),
  • intensity and type of problem.

Like all herbal supplements, CBD has its recommendations and side effects, but CBD doesn't make you high. You may experience drowsiness (especially if you overdose), nausea, intestinal discomfort and headaches. These effects can be expected as soon as you stop taking CBD.

As an active substance, it can interact with other drugs and cancel out or disrupt the intended effects of medical treatment. Mama strongly advises you to speak to your pharmacist or GP before taking CBD.

Measure your daily CBD dosage carefully

Estimate your dosage according to BMI

Your daily CBD dosage will depend on your BMI (body mass index), as CBD's effects on the body vary according to body weight. Depending on weight and height, each person may take a different dosage. For example, a 97-kg person may take the same dosage as a 55-kg person, but the effects won't be the same.

The most common indications are: between 100 and 600 mg of CBD per 5 kg (body weight). Imagine, Sophia weighs 60 kilos, so she could consume between 120 mg and 720 mg of CBD per day. Louis weighs 78 kilos and can take between 160 and 960 mg of CBD.

78/5 = 15.6 (rounded off)

16 x 1 = 16 mg

16 x 6 = 96 mg

Start small and build up gradually (if necessary)

The good thing about CBD is that the concentration you choose isn't really set in stone; you can gradually increase the dosage according to how you feel and what CBD does for you.

So if you choose a low-dose oil, you can gradually test the number of drops you need.

However, if you still don't find relief, it may be for one of two reasons: the concentration is not sufficient, whether for the oil or for any other product, including flowers and resins. Or the spectrum of your oil doesn't suit you.

Full spectrum or Broad Spectrum?

The spectrum ofCBD oil is a significant indicator of whether or not THC is present in the falcon. If the oil has been extracted in its entirety with the legal level of THC, it is said to be Full Spectrum. This means that its cannabinoid chain is complete, providing an entourage effect through the synergy of the individual molecules. This type of oil is generally more effective.

The second spectrum corresponds to the Broad Spectrum. The absence of THC means that beginners and others sensitive to cannabinoids can enjoy the benefits of CBD more gently.

Worth knowing: Research shows that the brain reaches full maturity around the age of 25. That's why THC is not recommended, so broad spectrum oil may be more suitable for those under 25.

As you'll understand, before taking CBD and finding the solution that will give you maximum relief, you'll need to study the right dosage for you. Mama advises you to be patient and to surround yourself with health and wellness professionals.
