Dry sifting is a traditional method


A simple yet precise technique


Dry sifting, also known as “dry sift,” is a mechanical extraction method. It involves separating the trichomes from the CBD flowers using very fine screens. Trichomes are the small glands found on the surface of the flowers. They are what contain the cannabinoids and terpenes.


With dry sifting, you simply separate these particles by passing them through a sieve. 


But be careful: simple doesn't mean easy. The quality of the result depends heavily on the precision of the technique and the materials used.


A method rooted in traditional craftsmanship


Dry sifting has been used for generations in certain hash-producing regions. It is a traditional method based on the experience and expertise of several generations.


In the traditional method, the flowers are dried and then sifted by hand. The motion must be steady so as not to damage the trichomes. Today, certain modern techniques have refined this process, but the principle remains the same.

Despite the emergence of more modern techniques, dry sifting remains the gold standard. You might ask yourself, why?
