CBD-based vaping is attracting more and more users, whether for a first experience or to renew their e-liquid. But in this little world, not all products are created equal, and quality can vary dramatically. To avoid unpleasant surprises and make the right choice, I'll take you step by step. Because a good CBD e-liquid isn't chosen at random!

To remember

  • A good CBD e-liquid clearly displays its origin and composition.
  • The PG/VG ratio and the type of extraction influence the quality of the vapor.
  • Traceability and laboratory analysis are essential.

The origin of CBD: the first criterion to watch out for

Before you look at the flavours or the pretty labels, always start by looking at where the CBD comes from. Is it derived from European hemp? Is it extracted from a broad spectrum or an isolate? Does the brand clearly display its origin?

A good CBD e-liquid indicates the form of extraction used (often by supercritical CO₂, a gentle process that respects the active molecules) and guarantees the absence of THC. This is a non-negotiable point.

If you can't find any information on the origin of the hemp or the type of extraction, beware!

PG/VG: the right balance

The PG (propylene glycol) / VG (vegetable glycerine) ratio plays a major role in your vape experience. And I'll explain it to you without losing you:

  • PG makes the liquid more fluid and conveys aromas more effectively.
  • VG produces a denser vapor and softens the hit (the sensation in the throat).

A good CBD e-liquid offers a balance, often around 60/40 or 70/30 (PG/VG). Too much VG and the liquid becomes too thick for some cartridges. Too much PG and the vapor can become aggressive, especially if you have a sensitive throat.

So always remember to check this ratio, especially if you don't want to be disappointed or disturbed when vaping.

CBD levels: neither too low nor unnecessarily high

You don't have to aim for the top to enjoy a CBD e-liquid. A good product offers a clear dosage, generally between 100 mg and 600 mg per 10 ml, depending on the desired intensity. Some liquids are more concentrated, but this is not always a guarantee of quality.

Too high a level can saturate the coil (the metal resistance) of your vape or create an unpleasant experience. What's important is that the concentration corresponds to your use: gentle discovery, occasional vaping or more regular use.

My advice? Start with a low dose, observe your sensations and then adjust.

Natural flavors and no chemical cocktails

A good CBD e-liquid has nothing to hide. It avoids long-winded artificial flavors and relies instead on natural terpenes. These are the ones that give that slightly herbal, lemony or woody taste, depending on the profile you're looking for.

You can also find e-liquids with a more classic taste (mint, fruit...), but make sure they're free of unnecessary additives, colorants and sugar. Keep the ingredient list simple, short and legible.

If you come across an e-liquid with flashy packaging, unlikely fragrances and no clear information... walk away.

Traceability: a guarantee of confidence

A quality product is always tested in a laboratory. These analyses guarantee :

  • The exact level of CBD,
  • The absence of THC,
  • The absence of heavy metals, solvents or contaminants.

I only offer products with these certificates. Not only is this reassuring for you, it's also a matter of respect. You have the right to know exactly what you want.

The vacations are approaching, so don't hesitate to check whether you can travel with your CBD vape before you go.

Choosing a good CBD e-liquid isn't a matter of luck. It's about composition, transparency and consistency. And when you know what to look for (hemp origin, liquid quality, lab tests), you won't be fooled by dubious liquids. Trust the Mama!
