Are you a CBD lover? Do you like cookies? Why not try CBD cookies? You can customize them to suit your tastes: dark, milk or white chocolate, coconut, raisins, spices... Here's a very simple and easily adaptable recipe to enjoy the benefits of our favorite molecule!

The benefits of making CBD cookies

Why eat CBD cookies?

Simply to combine the benefits of CBD with the deliciousness of cookies! Preparing CBD cookies lets you enjoy the benefits of cannabidiol for a snack break, or a sweet dessert... CBD's relaxing, anti-inflammatory and anti-stress effects are yours, without any psychoactive effects! Your gourmet break is transformed into a moment of pure relaxation. Not bad, eh?

Another argument to convince you to try CBD cookies is taste. If you're not a fan of the bitter taste of hemp, you might well enjoy chocolate cookies more, in which the taste of CBD is slightly masked. It's easier to eat. What's more, eating a CBD cookie or two will help you relax, loosening up your muscles and relieving stress. You'll be doubly serene with a chocolate CBD cookie!

What type of CBD should I choose?

As you know, cannabidiol can be found in various forms, such as resin, flowers, oil, butter, cosmetics, candy... For a cookie recipe, you can choose to use CBD oil oil, for example, which comes in handy for dosing in baked goods.

Or, you can also use cannabis butter. Wondering how to infuse CBD flowers in butter? Nothing could be simpler: just melt some traditional butter and leave the CBD flower crumbs to infuse for a few hours. Thanks to this technique, the terpenes will be well extracted and integrated into the butter, making it easier for the body to assimilate them. Choose a flower you like, according to its aromas (fruity, spicy, exotic, woody, floral, mentholated...), and its effects.

Calculating your CBD dosage

It's important to master this point to optimize the benefits of CBD, and enjoy it without overdosing. It all depends on your weight and metabolism, your tolerance, the type of CBD you use, and the effect you're looking for. It's not universal, but I'd advise you to start with a low dosage, even if it means adjusting later. I recommend an average dose of around 25 mg CBD/day, which works out at around 5 mg per cookie.

For example, to prepare 12 cookies at 5 mg CBD each, and if you use oil with 10% CBD, you'll need 0.6ml of oil, so about 12 drops.

Ingredients and materials for CBD cookies

List of ingredients

The recipe is simple and you'll see, the ingredients are easy to find:

  • 25 mg CBD (in oil or flower form)
  • 250 g flour
  • 125 g butter
  • 125 g sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 125 g chocolate chips
  • a pinch of salt.

Materials required

All you need here is the classic:

  • bowl or salad bowl, wooden spoon
  • baking sheet (+ baking paper or silicone mat)
  • a scale
  • a knife or chopper if you use CBD flowers
  • an oven.

Decarboxylation of CBD flowers

If you've chosen CBD flowers, you need to start with this step: decarboxylating the flowers. Very important, decarboxylation improves efficacy and bioavailability of the molecule. To do this, put a large quantity of hemp flowers (previously ground into powder) in your oven at 110°C for 40 minutes. Then add them to your butter over a very low heat.

Recipe steps for CBD cookies

The only difficulty: you have to choose between CBD oil and cannabis butter as the base for this recipe.

First, preheat your oven to 180°C and slide a sheet of parchment paper (or your silicone mat) onto a baking sheet.

Obviously, you took care to decarboxylate your CBD flowers flowers beforehand, if you chose the hemp butter option.

Next, mix the melted butter with the sugar in a bowl , and the CBD in the form of cannabis oil or butter, whichever you prefer.

Add one egg and a teaspoon of vanilla extract. Beat well. Add flour, a pinch of salt and a teaspoon of baking powder. Finish with the chocolate chips (or raisins, hazelnuts, etc.).

Stir until smooth.

Now it's time to roll some of the dough in your palm into small balls and place them on the baking sheet.

Watch the baking time: 10 minutes, maximum 12 minutes. The edges of the cakes may brown slightly.

Leave to cool on a wire rack before serving.
