Solvent extraction

Solvent extraction recovers large quantities of oil. In fact, it's the method with the highest yield. But it's also the least natural process, since it involves the use of chemicals.

While other forms of extraction leave up to 14% residual oil, solvent extraction recovers up to 99% of oily matter. The most commonly used solvent is hexane, a petrochemical-based gasoline.

Although this technique is commonly used in the food industry, it generates residues that are not eliminated during distillation. This method is therefore the least healthy of all.

Supercritical CO2 extraction

Supercritical C02 extraction is a scientific, gentle and healthy method. Despite its strange name, this distillation method gently extracts the active molecules present in the oil.

This process involves the gaseous and liquid states of the elements. When these two states of matter mix, it is called the supercritical state. Scientists achieve this form by adjusting both pressure and temperature.

The use of C02 or carbon dioxide has many advantages. It's non-toxic, environmentally friendly and can be adapted to a wide range of food products. In particular, it corresponds to the bubbles found in sparkling water and soft drinks.

Cold press extraction

Cold extraction is a method widely used in cosmetics. It is manual and totally natural. It is a process that has been used for thousands of years to extract vegetable oils.

Now mechanized, this process involves pressing all the elements of the hemp plant: leaves, flowers and seeds. This preserves all the active elements of CBD, including the nutrients.

The hemp plant is rich in omega 3 and 6, making it an ideal food supplement. The taste and benefits are enhanced tenfold with this method. But the yield remains the least effective. Fat loss is the highest of the 3 methods.
