CBD vaping is winning over more and more enthusiasts for its discreet format, which is quick to use and easy to integrate into everyday life. Behind this simple gesture, however, lies a world that's more technical than it seems. Between the liquid contained in the cartridge, the materials used and the manufacturing methods, every detail counts. So that you really know what you're holding between your fingers, here's a clear, jargon-free overview.

To remember

  • A CBD cartridge contains CBD-based e-liquid, without nicotine or THC.
  • It is based on a precise system: resistance, wick and reservoir.
  • Its manufacture requires rigor, control and traceability to guarantee quality vape.

The CBD cartridge: a small object, great precision

When you clip a cartridge to your battery, all you see is a small cylinder. Yet inside, everything has been thought through to the last detail. The cartridge contains a CBD-based e-liquid, most often extracted from European hemp. This liquid is heated at low temperature thanks to an ingenious system to create a smooth, combustion-free vapor.

The structure of a cartridge is based on three key elements. First, a reservoir containing the liquid, then a wick, usually made of cotton, which absorbs the liquid, and a coil (or resistor) which heats the wick to generate the vapor.

This trio works together to produce a clean, stable and pleasant vape. Far from being a gadget, it's a little concentrate of technology, where each component plays an essential role.

CBD e-liquid: a precise, controlled blend

The heart of the cartridge is its e-liquid. It's made up of purified CBD extract, THC- and nicotine-free, and a fluid base, often a blend of propylene glycol (PG) and vegetable glycerin (VG). The PG thins the blend and carries the flavors, while the VG produces a smoother, denser vapor.

Natural terpenes, extracted from plants or hemp, can be added for a subtle aroma without artificial additives.

Dosages vary depending on the CBD cartridges you choose. Some formats are milder, ideal for a gentle introduction. Others are more concentrated, ideal for regular users. But all must comply with legal levels and manufacturing standards, and that's where my vigilance comes in.

Coil, wick, temperature: it's all about balance

With each puff, the little mechanism of your CBD vape kicks in. The coil heats up, the wick soaks up liquid and vapour forms. If the temperature is set correctly, the liquid doesn't burn. You'll enjoy clean vapor, with no residue or unpleasant taste.

But beware: the quality of the components makes all the difference. A poorly calibrated coil or a poor-quality wick can create a burnt taste, dry out the throat, or worse, degrade the active CBD molecules.

That's why I only select cartridges made from safe, tested materials that are compatible with the majority of conventional batteries.

Manufacturing: a meticulous, controlled process

Designing a quality cartridge doesn't just happen. Every step is designed to guarantee a reliable, stable and secure experience. Here's how it works:

  1. Formulation of CBD e-liquid Choice of CBD spectrum (isolate or broad spectrum), terpenes, PG/VG ratio.
  2. Filling the reservoir under sterile conditions to avoid any risk of contamination or residues.
  3. Assembly of the various components (coil, wick, reservoir, tip) using precision machines.
  4. Systematic quality controls: no leaks, no air bubbles, good fluidity.
  5. Laboratory tests to check that the CBD content is correct, that there are no THC or impurities, and that the package functions as intended.

And all this, I guarantee you, is essential. Because a poorly designed cartridge means a disappointing experience at best, and a real health risk at worst!

If you're looking for a convenient, clean way to enjoy CBD, cartridges are an ideal solution. But don't forget: quality isn't always visible to the naked eye. So it's best to choose products that have been carefully designed, tested from A to Z... and, above all, validated by the Mama!
