Proper storage is the key to enjoying your CBD for longer without losing quality. Temperature, light, humidity, Mama gives you all the tips you need to keep your flowers, oils, resins and candies at their best.

Things to remember

  • Always store your CBD away from light, air and humidity.
  • Each product has its own requirements, and flowers do not keep like oils.
  • The right container makes all the difference in preserving effects and aromas.

Understand what can alter your CBD

Before even talking about jars or drawers for storing CBD, you need to understand what can cause your product to lose its benefits. Because a poorly preserved product loses potency, taste and effectiveness!

Temperature first and foremost

CBD doesn't like extreme heat or cold. It prefers a stable room temperature of around 15 to 20°C. If you leave your flowers or oil in the sun, in a car or near the radiator, it risks degrading the cannabinoids and terpenes. The result: fewer effects, less taste and therefore less pleasure.

And no, don't rush to the fridge either! For some very sensitive oils, why not, but for flowers, resins or sweets, the humidity of the fridge can do more harm than good.

Light is to be avoided at all costs

One of CBD's most insidious enemies is light. UV rays accelerate oxidation and rapidly degrade cannabidiol. It's no coincidence that oils are often sold in tinted bottles, to limit this degradation.

Mama advises you to keep all your products in opaque containers or in a closed cupboard. Avoid shelves in direct sunlight or windowsills. It's not the right place, even if it's easy on the eye.

Air and humidity are invisible traps

Oxygen is another degradation factor. Once exposed to air, CBD gradually oxidizes. As for humidity, it is the greatest danger for flowers and resins, as it causes mold.

Always close containers tightly. Avoid opening them several times for no reason. And if you're storing flowers, you can add a small humidity-regulating sachet (like a Boveda) to keep the balance right.

Proper storage of each type of CBD product

Now that we've seen what's threatening your CBD, let's look at how to protect each format. Each product has its own quirks, so listen carefully to Mama's advice!

CBD flowers: like a good tea

Flowers are sensitive, like a good tea or a rare spice. They need to be kept dry, well protected from air, light and humidity. A tinted glass jar with an airtight lid is best.

If you want to do things right, add a humidity regulator (such as Boveda 62%). It will keep the perfect balance between freshness and dryness. Store your pot in a cupboard or closed box, away from heat sources.

Avoid thin plastic bags or poorly sealed boxes. The CBD flowers flowers retain their aroma, texture and effects for several weeks, even months.

CBD oils: discreet and protected

Oils are less fragile than flowers, but they don't like heat or light. Store your bottle upright, in a drawer or cupboard. Avoid the bathroom, which is too humid. Also avoid the kitchen, where temperatures fluctuate greatly.

You can note the opening date on the label, to monitor its shelf life. In general CBD oils oils keep well for 6 to 12 months, if you follow this advice. And don't forget to reseal after each use.

CBD resins: flexible but demanding

Resin can become too soft when heated, or too hard when cold. It likes a temperate, dark atmosphere. The best way to store this type of CBD concentrate concentrate is a small opaque airtight jar, which you keep in a drawer.

If your CBD resin resin dries out a little, you can add a small piece of dried citrus peel to the container to rehydrate it slightly. Be careful, however, to keep a close eye on the humidity to avoid mold growth.

CBD candies: simple but sensitive

Candies are easier to preserve, but not imperishable. If overheated, they can melt, stick together or lose their taste. Store them in their original, well-closed bag or in an airtight box.

A dry, dark cupboard will do the trick. Avoid transporting your CBD candy candy in your bag all day if you're in the middle of summer. Temperature variations can alter them.

CBD vape: keep it away from extremes

Vape, whether in e-liquid or pre-filled cartridge form, also deserves a little attention. To prevent your e-liquid from losing flavor or degrading its components, keep it in a cool, dry place, away from light.

Avoid hot pockets, car trunks or window sills. Close bottles tightly after use, and if you have a cartridge, keep it upright to avoid leaks. A good CBD vape vape can be kept for several months without worry, if you treat it well.
